The Whole Fiasco of SRK detainment at US Airport.

Long ago in our country people indulged in entertainment industry were considered inferior. I am just stating the facts here and I do have respect for artists, actors and dancers however I just want to remind all that few years back it was considered inferior to act on the stage or on the screen. People who use to act or sing were never accorded equal stature in the society. Over a period of time we started giving importance, star status and glamour especially to the Film Stars and starlets (At times more than due importance) and slowly they started being treated differently than all of us. We forgot one thing that they are professionals and whatever they do they do so to earn money and hell lot of a money in this case.

Barring few respectable exceptions all the Film Stars are fake whatever we see on the screen is the cumulative effect of the story, direction, photography and hell lot of post production expertise and not only because of the genius of that star alone however success of the film is always accorded to the star alone. Off screen these people behave like they own this country and expect them to be treated differently or rather with some VIP privileges. Unfortunately in India we treat these junkies as celebrities and our government machinery dances to their tunes many times ( There are couple of exceptions wherein Sanjay Datta and Salman Khan were sent to prison however both of the cases are still pending and they are still roaming scot free on a bail)

However when these so called super stars travel abroad the governments of the visiting country does not recognize their VIP status and treat them as a normal visiting foreign national. Please read this article  If we believe this reporter in such case there is a possibility that SRK wanted to travel on inappropriate Visa and it was left to the discretion of the officer concerned whether to allow him in that country or sent back. I bow to the officer concerned who showed courage to stand tall against the egotism of this insane Indian Actor.

What is more disturbing is Indian government butted in to support SRK. Was he on a diplomatic passport? Had he gone there for some government work? By doing this as a country we also bowed to the egotism of such an individual who is just another Billionaire of this country and may be a famous film star.

I just want to say Shame on you SRK. You could and should have respected the rules and regulations of the country you visited just as our past President did rather than creating this unwarranted ruckus.

Shame On You !!!!!!!!!

  1. Mandy, I also feel that as a Country we have to be some more stubborn now, we have every thing to make US bow in front of us. SRK may have gone wrong by seeking a pressure help from govt but US too does this with many people with names like Khan, Pathan , Sheikh, after 9/11, and you can imagine, what would be the condition of a common man visiting US !!

Once, we should also hold up Some JOHN , RICHARD , SARA, SMITH for few hours to teach US a lesson. every thing will be all right after that.

What Pakistan does with India , is the same , we are now resilient by force, not by choice , previousy we used to say reverse, but countries around the world have taken it for granted as far as our country is concern.

Repuractions will be there, but why we are quiet today, is the same reason why would willl also keep mum on our act like that . ( Their dependency on Indian Economy as a market)

Its time to prove again that we are REALLY resilient by CHOICE and not for FORCE

We can fight and win, but it needs to be shown by a war or an act of war and not by words

Time to learn new things from INDIA now, INDIA IS A SUPER POWER ( no more in the making )

  2. Yes Upendra I agree with you however it seems that things needs to be seen in different light here. I agree there have been attempts of showing our country in poor light by frisking great people like APJ or our foreign diplomat and in such cases I have equally protested against this tyrant behaviour. When it comes to profiling and double checking people with specific religious beliefs I believe US has it's own reasons as they have strong evidence that people of specific religious belief are involved in terrorism and therefore they don't want to take any chances. They have proved with a time test that whatever system they had adopted to save their country they have become successful in doing it beyond doubt. In fact as a country we should be checking people with certain belief as time and again it has been proved that these people are involved in terrorism activities however we don't have political gut and willpower to do that. When it comes to detaining US citizens travelling to India just in retaliation, honestly it seems unreasonable to me. We must admit US nationals when they travel abroad are very careful about the documents they carry and it will be difficult to detain them without any valid reason. It seems (Please check the article cited in my article) that our hero was carrying the right Visa.
