Ten years Ago
When we had to search for anything it used to be a very cumbersome process. Ask friends, associates or go to the library and search for the books from where you might get some information about your query. There was no guarantee that you would get the information and there was no guarantee at all how much time you would need to do this.

After Ten Years
Just google what you want to know and millions of pages would pop up in a fraction of a second to give you every piece of information available on the world wide web.

Ten Years Ago,
If you are new to any city and need to find an address it use to be very frustrating. Keep on asking people who may led or misled you to the intended place. Consider the time lost doing this exercise

After Ten Years,
You have google maps, GPS based navigators just enter the name of the place where you want to go and bingo the devise will give you turn by turn instructions.

Ten Years Ago,
We use to wait for the mail to arrive, it was tedious to stay connected with people exchange letters, job applications, office correspondence. It use to take days to weeks to communicate information or data depending upon the distance between the two points.

After Ten Years
We have e Mail which instantaneously connected any two points in this world and facilitates transfer of information, loads of documents. The flow of information was never easier than this before.

Ten Years Ago
Keeping track of friends, remembering their birthdays, anniversaries and wishing them was so difficult. We use to miss track of what was happening in their life, careers and we could not keep them updated about the happenings in our life as well.

After Ten Years
We have Facebook, Google Plus, Orkut which keeps you connected in a single thread with your friends, families altogether. We were never so social in the past !!!!!!

This can be stretched to a long list of things those were difficult to do Ten Years Ago and very easy today. The point I want to make here is

Because of google and it's immense searching capabilities have we become really knowledgeable. Are we using this huge and deep reservoir of knowledge to make our life meaningful. Ten Years Ago at least we use to seek information however today are we really thirsty for knowledge ?

Because of GPS and google Maps now we can find many places without getting lost but have we increased our reach to people. Have we explored new places by crossing the boundaries, have we ever tried to use the technology to go beyond the obvious and try to explore things.

Ten Years Ago we use to write many letters to our parents, loved ones, friends, relatives and we use to long for the replies. In this age of instant gratification how many e Mails we have been writing to our parents, relatives, friends or we have stopped communicating with them at all in this mad race of earning money.

I agree Facebook or other social media platforms are a real good bridges to connect with people but besides liking and commenting and gossiping are we using these platforms effectively to take the social connect to the next level so that this immense power of human connect can be used for the betterment of mankind.

Think for a minutes guys we have the best of the best gadgets like tablets and iPhones but we have lost connect with each other. We have the best of the best cars to drive but the distance between two individuals have become unreachable. We have best of the best glasses and contact lenses to change the color of eyes but we have lost vision.

Please take a moment out of your busy life. Pick up your phone and disconnect data connection ( So that you wont get any mails or pings ) call your parents without a reason, call that old friend of yours just to say hi, take your wife out for an aimless drive, spend time with her chattering about nothing, use FB to arrange a get together, high school reunion, create a support group for your friends who are passing through turbulent personal or professional life.

Once you do this you will regain the calm and composure and serenity we use to enjoy ten years before because by doing this you will again connect back to human side of your life which is cluttered by technology today.
